Not Nice Spice
Probably one of the main benefits of not knowing the gender—keeping this baby classy! I’m not scouring sites impulse buying hoards of items for this little squish. And honestly there isn’t too much that a newborn needs. At least, I keep telling myself that, since I gave away all of our boy and girl baby clothes and a few other gadget items. Here’s what I’ve come up with so this little kiddo still gets some loving: We’re also relieved to have this baby at home. Finally we’re not in an apartment with walls as thin as can be; and God gave us a little wink when I was shocked that insurance agreed to cover some of the costs. Although every pregnancy, delivery and baby is different there are a few patterns that help ease the transition. I love being alone, using hypnobirthing breathing techniques and listening to birthing affirmations. Never in a million years would I have pegged myself like this. Motherhood is full of surprises! Last week I ordered my birthing kit, from Precious Arrows, and it’s already arrived! We already grabbed a few other homebirth essentials for a dry birth (a.k.a. not a water birth—I never like the tub with the first two so I’m not bothering with this one). Now for the endless waiting game. I’m very thankful to have Stud’s birthday, Christmas and New Year’s to keep me preoccupied… not to mention that nesting now includes putting a few personal touches on our little cape (sorry, Stud!).
