Not Nice Spice
If there is a parent out there in the world who can solemnly swear to be the master wizard of toddler mealtime, well, TEACH US YOUR WAYS! I am by no means a master wizard but I do like to cook and I have picked up on things that are important to my daughter. She dislikes repetitive meals, loves a little vinegar (girl after my own heart), and nothing gets her to eat meat & veggies like bribery. She has to be gluten free, otherwise a lovely bit of eczema declares itself; and sugar free to have better self-control (nutritional response testing is in her near future!). I often limit dairy but mix it in sparingly throughout the week (although these pictures have tons of cheese, go figure!). She used to have some digestive issues with dairy but at 2 ½ seems to be not as disruptive. The cheddar or mozzarella are from grass-fed cows and tend to not cause as many issues. I use goat milk yogurt and jam or berries for a nighttime snack since goat products are easier on digestion. To have her get in a higher fat content I also buy nut based yogurts, bacon, Kerrygold butter and snack on lots of guacamole. Here’s a basic food list of grocery items (Trader Joe’s & Wegmans) I buy that she particularly enjoys:
