Not Nice Spice
How I made an easy transition when we had our second and now our third—meal prep! I don’t do every little detail but I plan out times when I know I’ll have a little extra chaos ensuing. That includes any time we have errands or play dates, and even a clash of naps and attitudes. When we’re out of the house I make lunches, snacks and water bottles the night before and leave it in a lunchbox in the fridge. When it’s just a lovely lazy day at home I prep breakfast so whatever I have to cook is ready to go. We usually rotate through Ezekiel bread toast, goat yogurt and berries/granola, eggs and bacon, gluten free pancakes and now yummyoatmeal!
I made a cup of the prepared mix and gave each of the kids a quarter scoop. Lately, Chickadee has been eating through literally everything in the kitchen. I wasn’t shocked that she ate all of her breakfast, but was pleasantly surprised that she didn’t ask for a snack all morning!!! We use old fashioned oats, so adjust the cook time for quick oats. Note that the walnuts and cranberries won't be as soft with a shorter cook time.
