Not Nice Spice
Everything with the Little Old Man has been going really well and we've gotten a nice rhythm as a family of five. Well, except for his whole barfing issue. Lucky us. We all now enjoy snuggles and changing our clothes three times a day... or every time I nurse. And here I was trying to be a minimalist and not purchase loads of adorable baby clothes. So a shopping I will go! Chickadee and Little Dude now refer to Target as "Mommy's Store!" I feel that my parenting is complete. Until he sorts these food sensitivities out, my diet needs to be gluten (we did this already for the older kids), dairy, oat, pea protein, sweet potato free. It seems like a bunch of random foods, but it's the food protein that he can't quite yet tolerate. So my cooking and baking has been altered somewhat, which basically just means the grocery bill just got a little pricier. Thankfully it doesn't mean that we've lost any flavor! These donuts are just as delicious as other recipes we've used. And it seems the chocolate doesn't bother him-- YAY! I used Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Baking Flour for the first time in a donut recipe and it gave a perfect cake-like consistency. Can't wait to try out using it with other baked goods! For the original recipe check out Buns In My Oven. Note this recipe is not gluten or dairy free.
