Not Nice Spice
All I wanted this fall was a nice warm apple cider donut and that definitely did not happen. Every time we made pumpkin patch plans we were rained out or Chickadee and Little Dude were so ridiculously cranky naps won priority. So no donuts this year—boo! Thankfully Pinterest is full of tons of great recipes and gluten free to boot! However, in my pregnant glory I completely forgot to order a donut pan. So now that it has snowed a handful of times and I keep writing down to get one on list after list, I finally found one at Target last night. Not all is lost with the world after all. Late this morning, after feeding rascals and having our final energy audit, I decided to test everything out. I had no idea what to expect and these little sweeties did not disappoint! I went with the simplest recipe and replaced the vanilla extract with almond extract—this is the Triple Almond donut recipe! I topped it with my Clean Cream Cheese Frosting and sprinkled almond slices on top. It was absolute perfection! For the original recipe check out Southern In Law
