Not Nice Spice
Since having kids Stud and I have been trying to figure out simple ways to start our own family traditions. So far it seems that the Thanksgiving Day tradition is to have sick kids. It’s quite literally the most maddening thing ever! It might not matter as much if our kids were always sick or occasionally sick throughout the year. But when your babes decide to battle it out with illness once a year, why on earth is it on a major holiday?!?!
So far we’ve established sickness, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, and now gluten free cinnamon rolls and “hot chocolate” as our little family traditions. Best part is that the latter are quick and easy to throw together. First, go and BUY your gluten free cinnamon rolls. Then, warm them in the oven. Done! I’m so thankful that we live right near a gluten free bakery—godsend! Now on to the Holiday Almond Milk Hot Chocolate! I’ve been craving hot chocolate this pregnancy. I’m going to chalk it up to the fact that it’s already snowed a bazillion times this year. I was going to purchase a fancy overpriced mix from the store, but the sugar content was out of this world! Then I thought I would snag Trader Joe’s eggnog (it’s so relish!) as an alternative, but I fortuitously spied that they had Almond Milk Eggnog this year—win! I measured a mug-full, warmed it on the stove and mixed a few tablespoons of Lily’s chocolate chips. And now my family can thank me. My work here is done.
